- By giving your consent by signing our pre-rental form, you authorize Pre-Rental Screening Excellence Inc. to obtain any necessary information from your credit bureaus or other sources in order to establish your solvency or hiring decision.
The following information is collected for our pre-rental inquiry: First name, last name, date of birth, telephone number, current address, previous address, reference from your current/previous landlord, employer. A social insurance number is optionally requested to ensure the accuracy of the credit file and your identity.
Sharing and Disclosure of Information
Our commitment is transparent: We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information on your credit bureau to third parties. We will never do so. As indicated in an earlier paragraph, it may be necessary for us to gather information about you from entities such as credit companies, current and previous landlords, the Administrative Housing Tribunal and others ONLY in order to establish your solvency or hiring decision.
We will only disclose your information in response to legal requests such as court orders and mandatory government obligations.
We rely on you to notify us of any changes or errors or inaccuracies in the information provided. The individual or company may review and correct the report if necessary.
Data Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect the security of your personal information. Here are several physical ways in which we demonstrate our commitment to the security of your confidential information: Secure access to our premises, file locking, and many other security measures required to limit access only to authorized individuals. We also have technical measures such as strict password management, criminal background checks and confidentiality oaths imposed on all our employees who follow strict rules regarding the protection of personal information.
Modification of this Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or to comply with applicable laws. We will publish any changes on our website. Your continued use of our products and services after the publication of changes to this privacy policy constitutes your acceptance of these changes.
Retention and Destruction of Personal Information
We retain your personal information for as long as we need it for legal reasons. We are required by law to keep this information for at least 2 years. When this information is no longer needed, it is destroyed. The information is shredded by a firm specializing in the confidential destruction of documents. An official destruction report is always provided subsequently to ensure proper and legal destruction of the collected documents.
